Ino at Fortrose
The remains of the 46-tonne steamship Ino can often be seen at low tide in the Fortrose estuary.
It was built in Hokitika in 1874. In 1882 it made regular service between Dunedin and Fortrose. The ship was stripped out of its parts and motor and left to sink in the estuary which it did on the 4th March 1886.
